When an implant is surgically placed without proper esthetic planning the outcome is a deformed smile that’s very difficult to correct. VERY DIFFICULT COSMETIC CASE…however Unfortunately a common esthetic problem when you have implant(s) in your front teeth. This wonderful patient had an implant done years ago to replace a missing tooth in her left lateral incisor. The problem is it was placed in a not good position so it didn’t match the other natural teeth. The problem is when a dental implant is placed in a wrong position and integrated into the bone it is almost impossible to remove without tearing out the surrounding bone tissue leaving a huge defect that may not be correctable. So instead I performed my Okuda gum lift to match the position of the implant then placed porcelain veneers to correct this smile. Now she’ll be able to enjoy her new smile for a long time.
